Welcome to SIB 2026
The National Congress of the Italian Society for Biomaterials (SIB) will be hosted at the Park Hotel Marinetta in Marina di Bibbona (Livorno), Tuscany. 
Nestled along the beautiful Etruscan Coast (Costa degli Etruschi), Marina di Bibbona is a stunning seaside location renowned for its expansive sandy beaches, pristine dunes, and relaxing Mediterranean pine forests. This peaceful coastal setting offers an inspiring backdrop perfect for scientific exchange, community building, and networking.

Our vision for this edition is to celebrate biomaterials as a strategic crossroads connecting healthcare, environment, education, innovation, and inclusivity. 
Beyond formal scientific sessions, we want SIB 2026 to be a truly collaborative experience. By staying together at the main conference venue, we aim to foster an atmosphere where senior scientists and junior researchers can easily connect, debate ideas, and ignite new collaborations, both during official presentations and informal social gatherings.

The nearest main railway station is Cecina (10 km from the venue). To make your arrival as smooth as possible, a dedicated conference shuttle will be available to pick up participants from Cecina station and bring them directly to the Park Hotel Marinetta.

How to Reach Cecina? Main Train Route

• From Pisa Centrale: Direct regional and Intercity train connections available daily (Average travel time: 40-50 minutes).

• From Roma Termini: Direct High-Speed Frecciarossa connections available, with stops at Civitavecchia, Grosseto, and Campiglia Marittima (Average travel time: 2h 24min).

Connections from Pisa Airport to Pisa Centrale Train Station (Distance: approx. 1 km)

• PisaMover (Shuttle Service): Located less than 40 meters from the Pisa Passenger Terminal, the PisaMover shuttle directly connects the Airport to Pisa Centrale Station. It operates daily from 06:00 to 24:00 (Travel time: 5 minutes). 

• Taxi: CO.TA.PI. taxi service, available 24/7. There is also the App TaxiMove.

• Bus: Line 3+ (Route: San Giusto – Pisa Station). Tickets can be also purchased directly on board all lines using a contactless card.
